Dear Members,

We are pleased to announce the upcoming course maintenance schedule at Yering Meadows Golf Club. This annual maintenance is crucial for the health and playability of our course and has not taken place in over three years. We appreciate your understanding and support as we work to enhance the quality of your golfing experience.

Coring is a vital process that helps to aerate the greens, promoting healthier grass growth, improving drainage, and ensuring smooth putting surfaces. It also helps to relieve soil compaction, reduce thatch, and increase the resilience of the turf.

Coring Dates:

  • 30th Sept – 4th Oct: Holes 10 – 18
  • 7th Oct – 11th Oct: Holes 1 – 9
  • 14th Oct – 18th Oct: Holes 19 – 27

Please note: The Putters and Short Game Greens will be cored during these weeks, depending on weather conditions and progress.

Scarifying Dates:

  • 7th – 11th Oct: Holes 1 – 9

We look forward to this maintenance period as it is a significant investment in the future of our course. Your patience and cooperation during this time are greatly appreciated, and we are excited to see the positive impact these improvements will have on your playing experience.

Scarifying the fairways is essential for maintaining healthy turf. This process removes thatch build-up, improves air and water penetration, and promotes stronger grass growth, leading to more resilient and attractive fairways.

Due to the lack of maintenance over the past few years, both coring and scarifying will be quite harsh on the surfaces to remove as much thatch as possible. While there is never a perfect time to conduct these essential maintenance works, we are hopeful for good weather and a quick recovery time for the course.

Thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to providing you with an exceptional golf course in the months and years ahead.

Regards,

James Veitch
